Having found calm and comfort on her mat, Beth has opened her heart to become more mindful of acceptance, compassion and love for self and others. She found maitri (MY-tree)! Hoping to share her love for yoga, "MAITRI YOGA WITH BETH" was launched! Beth incorporated the Sanskrit symbol for maitri as the tree trunk of her logo to represent the personal strength and growth one may experience while practising yoga, while the trunk's curviness represents the challenges faced on our life's journey!

Yoga was something I was always interested in trying but wasn't sure the group class atmosphere was for me. Working with Beth has changed my life! Beth is truly an amazing, caring individual and is super educated on how to properly do yoga without any injuries or discomfort! Beth creates such a safe, comfortable and completely judge-free environment for yoga. We have so much fun and I look forward to our time together every week! She will go above and beyond to make sure you get the most out of yoga, and will work with you to fully customize your classes. In my first year with Beth, I have completely changed as a person, and I thank Beth for the support with that. Yoga has changed my mindset, as well as helped me lose a bunch of weight and tone my body! I HIGHLY recommend Beth to everyone, she will be so much more than just your yoga instructor, she's also a great friend.
How Beth has touched my life....
To who ever may be reading this, I highly recommend Beth from Maitri Yoga to accomendate you on your yoga journey!
Six years ago I suffered a severe slip and fall on the ice where I cracked my skull and was later diagnosed with post concussion syndrome. My day to day as a 33 year old woman was not only embarrassing, but frustrating as well. I suffered severe balance issues, and struggled to put on my pants, and shoes, to dress myself every morning. I had went as far as to have grab bars installed all over my home, to keep me safe and from falling.
I had heard of yoga for balance and relaxation, and figured I would give it a try! When I first met Beth she was so compassionate, empathetic and encouraging. She could clearly see and experience my massive deficits, however fostered and nurtured positivity and encouraged me to not give up, nor get discouraged. In the beginning I could not plank, I could not hold a mountain pose, hardly even the sun dog.
I knew from the first day I met Beth that she was an angel in my life, I remember welling up with tears with my inability to compete some of the most basic, "simple" moves. Beth always grounded me, showered me in positivity, made me take a deep breath and talked me through everything. When I would drop a pose, it was never a big deal.... we celebrated small successes and worked hard at improving week after week. She has done wonders at building my confidence, self esteem, and helping me accept my disability by coming up with fun classes and meditations.
Beth and I have been working together for 3 years now, 2/3 times a week. I love the convenience of her coming into the home, her schedule is flexible and she is a true pleasure to share my home and time with. May I also add for the animal lovers she is incredible with cats, as mine love to join us on the yoga matt's and get right into our classes! Also, it's a true blessing as I have a big and beautiful yard, Beth and I set up under my tree at the river and have some on the most incredible classes outside with the sound of nature, birds chirping and wind in the trees.
Beth is not only an extremely knowledgeable and skilled yoga instructor, she is become my friend over the last 3 years. Her passion shines through in everything she does, and I look forward to my time with her every week. After years of hard work, support and determination, Beth and I did a Plank challenge where I was holding planks for 1 min 45 seconds, which is INCREDIBLE and was also able to master the dancer pose, a very tricky pose requiring advanced balance and concentration. It's incredible as I push myself to hold this pose as long as possible, I melt while I see the pride and joy on beths face. We have shared many laughs and tears over the years, Yoga with Beth hasn't just helped my physically, its changed my safety and day to day operations around my home it's given me great confidence in myself, as well as emotional clarity. The amount of relaxation Beth brings me is absolutely incredible, I have never been such an incredible version of me.... and I honestly and truly have to say, I have the best yoga instructor in the world to thank for that.... Beth, you are my angel, and I wouldn't be where I am today without you!
Everyone needs to give Beth a try, and let some of her positivity and magic into your life, trust me when I say... it will be one of the best decisions you ever made!
Not only has Beth supported me in some of the hardest and most difficult parts of my life, she is also became a lifelong friend. I look forward to a lifetime of yoga, mediation and relaxation with this special, and one of a kind woman!
Beth turned me into a Yoga addict after just one class.
I highly recommend Maitri Yoga with Beth.
I'm brand new to yoga and she went out of her way to make sure I never felt discouraged.
She explained the moves, poses, and stretches in easy to understand steps.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Beth for her Restorative yoga class. I was apprehensive at first, thinking that my physical limitations would prevent me from fully participating in the class. Beth took the time to listen to my concerns and assured me that there would be no issues. If there was a yoga pose that I was unable to do, Beth would modify it to my abilities so that I would be successful. Beth's Restorative yoga class was just what I needed! Is is about what "I CAN DO" not about what "I CAN'T DO"!
Often, when I write a letter of recommendation or a testimonial, it takes a while to find just the right words to give a sense to the reader of the individuality that marks the person as being particularly deserving of attention or praise. This is not one of those times. I have known Beth personally for over 25 years, and as a yoga teacher for the last year, and the qualities which stood out for me when I first met her still stand -- integrity, passion, care, and an absolutely relentless work ethic and enthusiasm.
I was not sure how the practice of yoga would unfold with such an old friend, or how accessible I would even find yoga, after many years absent from the practice. However, I trusted Beth to encourage me to explore what was available to me, and to apply her intensive training to help me maximize my experience. That trust was absolutely well placed, and she continues to guide me along some familiar yoga routes and into new vistas, to make the physical and spiritual journey the goal rather than some distant level of competence which is not rooted in who I am and who I want to be.
Beth's Sanskrit name means "Enough," and I believe that she has chosen this name wisely. She emphasizes again and again the joy of experimenting with what works for her students, coupled with the cornerstones of meditation and mindful movement. Whenever I meet up with her for coffee or an outing, she has yet another meditation or yoga book in hand, and she repeats in conversation, again and again, the challenges and gratifications she finds with her own practice. Everyone has a place in Beth's classes, because she always makes it a priority to find out what her students are seeking, as well as what their fears and competencies are. She makes us all feel that WE are enough, that our best selves are always available and demonstrable. She is in the business of building better minds and bodies, but she is really an explorer who asks her students to come on an adventure with her, to see what we can see and do what we can do, and appreciate how interestingly and wonderfully we are all made. "Maitri" is not just the name of Beth's business: it is her message and mantra to all her students.
Thank you Beth for showing me the great gift of yoga. I have gained body strength I did not know I had. You are the best!
Thank you Beth for introducing me to the powers of your restorative yoga!
Those days when I wake up stiff and sore, I do some yoga stretches and breathing as per Beth's instructions and feel great.
The one on one personal seesions are amazing! We laugh and Beth really takes the time to focus on my form and breathing to my abilities. The benefits from her sessions give me strength and a calming peace to my soul. I look forward to each and every session. You should give it a try and feel all stress leave your body and mind.
I'm a teenage girl who participated in Beth's yoga classes with my mom. Right from the start, I was drawn to Beth's easy going personality and humour. As someone who is not very active, Beth made me feel comfortable in trying new things. I also found myself feeling much stronger, more confident, and less stressed after class. I enjoyed participating in an activity that I felt I caught on easily to. Sessions also became a bonding activity for my mom and I. It was nice to relax and push ourselves together and I learned a lot from the experience. I definitely recommend Beth to anyone who is new to yoga, as Beth made me feel instantly comfortable and not embarrassed by my failures. I also recommend Beth to more experienced people as she is very knowlegeable and has taught me so much. Ever since starting yoga I've been a a stronger and less stressed version of myself. I can't thank Beth enough!
I have had the good fortune to have been in both private classes and small group classes taught by Beth. I speak from experience when I say she has a special ability to meet you where you are on your yoga journey and to support and encourage you in a gentle and genuine way. She has a great sense of humour, a down to earth attitude and a wealth of knowledge. I always feel calmer and more capable after spending time on the mat with Beth. Thanks, Beth!
My daughter and I did yoga with Beth in the comfort of our own home. Beth made us feel comfortable and allowed us to go at our own pace. Best of all, I did not have to prepare anything as she brought it all! Beth's warm soul had a lasting impression on us both. My daughter who was new to yoga now loves it. We both feel stronger and empowered. We have developed techniques and strategies to help us cope during stressful situations and best of all we found a common ground practicing Yoga with Beth! Thank you so much Beth for doing what you do!
I was lucky enough to participate in one of your yoga classes. I've been retired for over 6 years (so I'm not really in my prime) and as much as I don't want to admit it, I am more than 20 pounds overweight. I never thought yoga would be a thing for me. But ... your class, led by your gentleness and calm manner, gave me a totally different outlook. I now realize that even I can do yoga, enjoy it and benefit from it. Thank you, Beth, for opening up a whole new experience for me.
Beth is a very determined and devoted gal. She decided to go back to school to learn yoga and learn she did. Her standards are high for herself so she studied and devoured everything that she could put her hands on. She will be a benefit to all of her students as she wants them to take advantage of her knowledge. As she progresses along her yoga path she will be a shining star to all who follow her.
I had joined yoga classes numerous times over the years. I always felt yoga wasn't really my thing. Then I met Beth. The comfort with Beth is incredible, no matter your level, she makes you feel at ease. I actually feel like my poses are beautiful. I feel like a goddess stretched out. I feel strong and empowered. I have also done meditation with Beth. My mind opened and relaxed, all my anxieties disappeared. If you have the chance experience Beth's class. I know you will never go anywhere for "your time". Relax, unwind, empower!
As a male, I was very nervous about doing yoga. It is not something I had ever tried before. I thought it was going to just be meditation, I had no idea what a workout it would be. Beth made me feel relaxed from the very first moment. I've played competitive soccer my whole life and wish I had Beth years ago. I've never been so flexible and I feel so much stronger. I've always struggled with back pain and no more. It also helps you forget about all the negative and helps you focus on the positive. Namaste.
